V4A DANCE CLASSES IS ON FRIDAYS AT 6.30 PM at covenant Church 3465 Shackelford Rd, MO 63031.

F4KIDZ African Performing Arts offers unique opportunity to share the rich African culture through dance and music. This group of young artists comprising of middle school immigrant students, uses the dance and drumming to promote the African culture in Missouri.

Immigrant parents have willingly made many sacrifices, but often do not anticipate the culture clash and conflict with their own teens who, growing up in America, have a far greater identification with American culture. Their behavior and values may baffle or appall these parents and defeat their expectations. Sometimes the teens have internal conflict as well. They may feel culturally split, trying to be a dutiful, traditional child at home and an all American girl/boy at school. These competing requirements can be very stressful as teens essentially lead a double life, with all the lies that entails. WATCH VIDEO

V4A promotes discussion forums and activities between parents and kids to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. In June we host dady/daughter dinner date and every Friday we have soccer and volleyball. This gives parents and kids opportunity to exercise and to bond with their children.

Art therapy for children can be very beneficial, especially at this time where many kids are emotionally affected by the pandemic and many refugee kids from war trauma.
Art Therapy is popular in schools and hospitals due to its healing and behavior management potential. Children who take part is art therapy have a chance to express themselves about topics that may be too difficult to vocalize. Whether drawing, painting, or writing poetry, the expressive therapy can increase confidence and self-awareness, relieve stress, or provide a coping mechanism for children who have emotional conflicts.
Sign up for this program. This class will also accommodate the underserved children in our community with developmental problems or speech disorders.
The class size is very small and is only on first come first served.
