V4A gets a boost with 3 college interns this summer

SALLY GACHERU-Administrative Assistant


SALLY GACHERU will be responsible with managing and distributing information within the office. This generally includes answering phones, taking memos and maintaining files. Administrative assistant is in charge of sending and receiving correspondence, Organize and schedule meetings and appointments. She will be responsible in all our youth and kids program, follow up with parents, new program enrollments and all summer activities. SALLY GACHERU is a student at St Louis University studying biomedical engineering, Pre-medicine.

 

AMAKOE D’ALMEIDA- Program analyst

Mr. Amakoe D’almeida, an University of Missouri-St. Louis undergraduate student majoring in public policy administration, is doing internship with Vitendo4Africa for the Summer 2020. He helped to launch a public policy program for our high school students currently with 20 students. The Youth Policy Advocacy program offers young students the opportunity to get involved in local and national policy discourse. Students will have a chance to learn about local, state, and federal government policy processes and research a community issue of their interest and make a presentation about their findings.

GRACEMARY NGANGA- Youth Development Specialist (YDS) 

Stanford University Undergraduate student will be our intern staff this summer under the title of YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST (YDS). At this position Gracemary is responsible for the implementation of our youth programs. The YDS implements a comprehensive program plan that nurtures the existing and new youth in the program. The YDS will role model our core values of honesty, respect and responsibility and work daily to develop personal and meaningful relationships with members, volunteers, program participants and others. She will also help to match mentors and mentees, keep track of monthly activities and program evaluation.
